In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Bruno Mars kills it on SNL and Justin Timberlake didn’t invite N*Sync members Joey Fatone or Lance Bass to this wedding.
HIT: Bruno Mars on SNL
Unless you’re Justin Timberlake, having a musical guest also double as a host is a very risky move. Luckily, the writers were on their game this weekend as Bruno Mars capitalized on his singing skills in the Pandora sketch. Unfortunately, that sketch isn’t available online because of multiple copyrights attached the songs he sang (including Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend). If you do find it, treasure that moment forever. It’s a pretty great.
MISS: Justin Timberlake reportedly banned one half of N*Sync from his wedding
Speaking of Justin Timberlake, Celebs like Jimmy Fallon and Andy Samburg were just two out of 100 wedding guests at his wedding in Italy. You know who wasn’t there? Lance Bass and Joey Fantone. According to Us Weekly fodder, “Justin hates Lance now.” Well, you know what Timberlake? Boo you for not wanting the greatest boy band in the world in reunite. BOO YOU (as in displeasure, not in a ghoulish scream)!
HIT: Armie Hammer is a prince in real life
Armie Hammer can now join the “Celebrities can be heroes, too” club after helping a car crash victim in L.A. According to model Leeann Tweeden (who can join the club, too because she also helped), Hammer helped an old lady out of her smashed-up car during rush hour. What rare breed Hammer is: his charming face matches his thoughtful personality.
MISS: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are broke
Since the Hills ended, we are no longer subjected to the real life blow-up doll Heidi Montag and that d-bag Spencer Pratt. What’s this? They’re back on the radar because they’re broke? Apparently the two are living with Pratt’s parents while he finishes a degree in political science. If he ends up using his degree to run for president in the future, I’m pulling a Jane Goodall, quitting civilization and living with the monkeys because I wouldn’t be able to take seeing his smug face on TV anymore.
HIT:Emma Watson to return to Brown University in January
After taking a couple of months off to focus on her acting career, Watson’s reps have confirmed the actor will return to Brown University in the winter semester. Anyone who’s been following Watson’s career since she took on the role of the equally-brainy Hermione knows that education has always been important to the actor. Thanks Watson, for making smart girls look so good.
MISS: Lindsay Lohan live-tweets the third Presidential debate
Do I really need to elaborate on this? Obviously, no one cares what the “actor” (please note the quotation marks) with no political clout or knowledge thinks, especially one who tweets at the President asking him to basically cut rich people like her some slack. The only people who haven’t gotten the memo is Lohan herself and the mainstream media who think we still give a shit. “I’m totally going to vote for Mitt Romney because Lindsay Lohan thinks he’s swell!” said no one ever.
